Ukraine to cooperate with South Korea's KT Corporation in smart electricity metering
Acting Energy Minister Olha Buslavets signed a memorandum of understanding on the implementation of smart electricity metering between the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and South Korea's KT Corporation. The memorandum is aimed at establishing a partnership in this area.
“The Ministry of Energy is interested in modernizing the Ukrainian electric power industry based on the most modern technologies. We are completing the development of the concept for the implementation of smart grid technologies in Ukraine,” Buslavets noted.
One of the components of this concept is the introduction of smart metering systems.
Implementation of the concept will enable to reduce power losses in power grids; conduct effective online monitoring of power quality parameters; and analyze the balances of electricity in various nodes of power grids.
Ukraine is very interested in the experience and cooperation with South Korea, which is the world leader in the development and implementation of modern technologies in the power industry, in particular, smart grid technologies.
