Ukraine's state budget did not receive UAH 45 billion in planned revenues to the general fund in the first quarter of 2020, including UAH 27 billion as customs and tax payments, Chairman of the Accounting Chamber Valeriy Patskan has said on Facebook.

"In January-March 2020, the budget did not receive 14% of planned revenues to the general fund. This is UAH 45 billion, of which UAH 27 billion are customs and tax payments and UAH 17 billion are external borrowings," Patskan wrote.

He said that due to a reduction in imports of goods and services, the budget did not receive UAH 9.5 billion in VAT. The difference between the projected and actual exchange rate of the hryvnia led to a shortfall of UAH 6.7 billion in revenues, he added.

As a result, budget expenditures amounted to UAH 28.3 billion (11%) less than planned. The areas of education, medicine and the construction of sports facilities did not receive UAH 1.1 billion, Patskan said.
