Ukraine can offer Europe 10 bln cu m of gas in storage facilities

Ukraine can offer Europe 10 billion cubic meters of gas in the underground gas storage facilities to accumulate the fuel for 2020-2021.

"By the end of Q3, the European underground gas storage facilities may be completely filled. Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities can additionally receive another 10 billion cubic meters," CEO of Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine LLC Serhiy Makohon posted on Facebook.

According to Makohon, Ukraine should pump 2-3 billion cubic meters of gas into its underground storages in preparation for the 2020/21 heating season.

As reported, Ukraine ended the season with the record large gas reserves. As of March 31, 2020, 15.9 billion cubic meters of gas were kept in the Ukrainian underground storage facilities.
