Imposition of duty on Russian coal postponed until May 1

The Government of Ukraine has postponed the imposition of duty on coal from the Russian Federation until May 1.

"To impose from May 1," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at the Cabinet’s meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Minister of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko, the list of coal types on which the duty will be imposed is going to be amended.

On March 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution on imposition of a special duty on Russian electricity and coal, except for anthracite and metallurgical coal, from April 1, 2020.

Subsequently, the resolution was amended and the imposition of duty was postponed until 15 April.
