The main economic impact of coronavirus will be noticeable in 3 to 6 months.

"Ukraine and the world are in a very difficult economic situation. The crisis can be always anticipated, but it always happens due to unforeseen factors. The coronavirus has become such a factor, and in fact we will see the main consequences not now, but in 3-6 months. This is the first time the global crisis will be caused not by financial factors but industrial and service ones," Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Minister of Ihor Petrashko said in the Parliament of Ukraine before his appointment, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He predicted that the production sphere would suffer in the first place from the spread of coronavirus both globally and in Ukraine.

"In my opinion, there are two priority areas in the economy. The first is to support and balance the Ukrainian manufacturer in the situation when neighbouring markets will impose protectionist measures. The second direction is to create fundamental conditions for Ukrainian business to feel good in Ukraine," Petrashko said.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Ihor Petrashko as the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine at its special sitting on March 17.
