Zelensky, Georgieva discuss judicial reform, ‘bank bill’

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a meeting with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva within the framework of the 56th Munich Security Conference. This is already the second meeting of the President with the IMF leader this year.

“The parties discussed the draft laws that will help Ukraine achieve stable economic growth and provide mechanisms for protection of its citizens. In particular, they touched upon the progress of judicial reform, the development of the rule of law system, the so-called bank bill,” the press service of the Head of State reports.

“Our meeting with Kristalina Georgieva was constructive as always. We discussed recent developments and positive achievements in our economy that will bring benefits to every Ukrainian. Our dialogue with the IMF is meaningful and our relations are friendly,” Volodymyr Zelensky summed up.

On January 22, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva discussed reforms in Ukraine and the implementation of $5.5 billion financing program.

On January 18, 2020, Georgieva said that Kyiv must fulfill preliminary established conditions for a new EFF program.
