Infrastructure minister invites U.S. companies to join concession projects in Ukraine

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii has invited U.S. companies to join concession projects in Ukraine, according to the ministry’s press service.

He said this during a meeting with U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine Kristina Kvien and Counselor to the Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, Caleb McCarry.

“The use of concession mechanism will allow the state to attract significant private investments to modernize and increase the efficiency of use of infrastructural objects such as sea and river ports, highways, airports, as well as other state-owned objects, which will allow Ukraine to realize its transit potential and give a new quality of transport services. We invite U.S. companies to join concession projects in Ukraine,” said Kryklii.

The Ukrainian minister has stressed that the first concession competitions in the port industry have been already completed, while the development of concession projects in the seaports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, Mariupol, Berdiansk is underway. He has also added that the projects on concession roads of Lviv-Stryi and Lviv-Ternopil, as well as regional airports and train stations are being worked out.

U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine Kristina Kvien praised the cooperation between Ukraine and the United States and said she hopes for the further development of mutually beneficial relations between the countries.
