Government to promote development of Azerbaijani business in Ukraine – Kryklii
Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii stated this during the 12th meeting of the joint intergovernmental Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation, according to the ministry´s website.
“We are ready to help increase the presence of Azerbaijani business in Ukraine, promote investment projects in the fuel and energy complex, transport infrastructure and communications sector, international trade and tourism, as well as in all other fields of mutual interest. Azerbaijan is a strategically important partner of Ukraine,” Kryklii stressed.
The Ukrainian minister also noted that the common goal is not only to return record-high bilateral trade volumes to the indicators of 2010, but also exceed them. This should be facilitated by mutually beneficial investment projects. Also, transport services occupy one of the key positions in the development of trade and economic ties between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, Kryklii said.
In addition, the establishment of a Commission´s working group on promoting tourism would enhance cooperation between travel agencies and associations of the two countries, as tourist flows are growing due to an increasing number of flights between Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
The infrastructure minister also noted that energy cooperation is an important element in the development of strategic partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. According to him, due to large-scale reforms and favorable investment climate, energy sector is developing at a rapid pace. In particular, one of promising directions is sea transportation of oil cargoes in the Black Sea basin within the maritime section of the route of oil supplies by the Azerbaijani side towards the Ukrainian ports.
