SkyUp, a Ukrainian low-cost airline, has opened a new base at Zaporizhzhia International Airport and intends to expand its flight geography, including from Zaporizhzhia city.

SkyUp CEO Yevhen Khainatskyi stated this at a meeting held at Zaporizhzhia City Council on Thursday, November 14.

“SkyUp continues to expand the announced program from regions. In particular, the airline launched flights from Zaporizhzhia to Sharjah and Kyiv in October, and the first flight to Israel will be performed in December. These are our steps in implementing the strategic program on expanding the map of flights from regions. In addition, an important event for us is basing the aircraft at Zaporizhzhia International Airport. This is the third regional airport where we base our aircraft for both regular and charter programs,” said Khainatskyi.

He has also noted that the new base means jobs growth and expanding flight geography.

Ukrainian low-cost airline SkyUp, founded in 2017, has a fleet of nine Boeing aircraft. The company seeks to get its tenth aircraft until the end of the current year and four more aircraft next year.
