A total of 254 MPs voted in favor of the document at a parliament meeting on Friday, September 20, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"We propose granting the Finance Ministry the opportunity to launch the software, which has already been operating since April, that could determine these problems and report them to the concerned government bodies. This bill is urgently needed, the system is already working, but the bill will streamline it," the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, said while presenting the bill in parliament.
According to the explanatory note, the bill defines the main tasks, rights and responsibilities of the central executive body implementing state financial and budgetary policies in relation to the verification of public payments and also regulates the main issues of collecting, processing, protecting and analyzing information received from the subjects that provide it.
The document also defines the authority of the bodies making public payments, the main stages of verification and the list of information used to monitor public payments.
