Average monthly salary 2.5 times higher minimum wage - Economic Development Ministry

In May 2019, the average nominal salary amounted to UAH 10,239, which is 2.5 times higher than the minimum wage, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

"The average nominal wage amounted to UAH 10,239 in May 2019, which is 2.5 times higher than the minimum wage. The salary grew by almost 17.4% from May 2018," the ministry wrote on its Facebook page.

The ministry also noted that the highest average monthly salaries were recorded in the financial and insurance sector – UAH 18,888, in the pharmaceutical manufacturing – UAH 18,888, the information and telecommunications sector – UAH 17,120, and in the extractive industry – UAH 15,408.

In the regional context, the largest salaries were recorded in the city of Kyiv – UAH 15,157, Donetsk region - UAH 11,391, Kyiv region - UAH 10,776 and Dnipropetrovsk region - UAH 10,568.

As Ukrinform reported, since January 1, the minimum wage in Ukraine has grown to UAH 4,173 per month or up to UAH 25.13 per hour.
