Ukraine increased imports of roses by 25% and carnations by 3%. Orchids “come” from the European Union, according to the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Association.

"Imports of roses and carnations grew by 25% and 3% respectively. At the same time, imports of orchids (-9%), chrysanthemums (-17%) and lilies (-14%) decreased compared to last year. There were no significant changes in the geographical structure of the imports of roses and carnations, unlike the imports of orchids, chrysanthemums and lilies. Africa almost left the Ukrainian market (14% in 2017 to 0.02% in 2018), thereby allowing the EU countries to fill the niche," the report says.

Imports of lilies also came from the EU countries. Africa and America ceased to deliver flowers to Ukraine. Imports of chrysanthemums from Africa and America decreased to insignificant indicators (0.005% and 0.03% respectively), while Asian countries, on the contrary, increased their share in the total import structure of this type of flowers by 0.3%.

At the same time, the structure of exports of Ukrainian flowers in 2017-2018 remained unchanged. There was a reduction in supply by 2%. Ukrainian exports of flowers to the CIS countries grew by 6%.
