Poroshenko opens newly built Odesa-Reni highway
He said this at the highway opening ceremony that was broadcast live on the Facebook page of the head of state.
"Today, in general, we are completing an extremely important project on the construction of the Odesa-Reni highway and a ring road around Odesa. This is a transport corridor that connects Odesa, Reni, the border, and then you can move to Moldova, Romania, and Bulgaria," Poroshenko said.
At the same time, he added that some work on the construction of facilities on the Odesa-Reni highway had yet to be completed before April.
The head of state stressed that now it would be possible to get from Odesa to Reni on a "new, well-repaired, good road" within three to four hours.
Poroshenko said that agreement had been reached with the Bulgarian prime minister and the Romanian authorities that a site would be selected and a bridge across the Danube would be constructed. According to him, this will reduce the distance from Odesa to Romania and to Bulgaria.
