Ukraine’s Vice PM, Portugal’s Economy Minister discuss priority areas of cooperation

The priority areas of Ukraine-Portugal cooperation are production sector, information technology, tourism and green energy.

"Last December, the Ukraine-Portugal Economic Cooperation Agreement was signed. It was ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on September 6. It is a strategic document that will deepen the opportunities for cooperation between our countries in many directions. To take the first practical steps, the action plan for the implementation of the agreement until 2020 was elaborated. We see the production sector, especially the aerospace direction, IT, tourism and green energy as the priority areas of cooperation," First Vice Prime Minister and Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv said at the meeting with Portuguese Economy Minister Manuel Cabral, the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine reports.

First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine also noted the obvious mutual interest of Ukrainian and Portuguese entrepreneurs. During the business forum, they immediately discussed the possibility of introduction of joint projects, in particular in the field of agrarian and food industry, wine production and viticulture, infrastructure, transport and construction, energy efficiency, tourism, IT and innovation in healthcare.

Kubiv stressed the important role of the Ukrainian community in Portugal in strengthening bilateral relations between the countries.
