On the night of February 17, Russia carried out a large-scale strike on Ukraine’s critical and logistical infrastructure, leaving several regions without electricity, water, and heating.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Telegram by Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development.

“Last night, Russia once again launched a massive attack on civilian, critical, and logistical infrastructure in several regions of Ukraine. The strikes targeted Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Odesa, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk regions, and other areas. The enemy deliberately hit energy facilities, substations, and thermal generation sites,” the statement read.

In some regions, water and heating supply was temporarily suspended due to power outages. Restoration work is ongoing in Odesa and Sumy regions.

Enemy drone attacks also damaged railway infrastructure in Donetsk, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Chernihiv regions. Importantly, there were no casualties as workers were in shelters. Train traffic remains operational, with repair work underway.

As reported, as of February 17, some trains to Zaporizhzhia will run only as far as Dnipro, and delays are possible in border regions.
