Minimum wage grows in Ukraine from Jan 1

The minimum wage in Ukraine grew by UAH 523 from January 1, 2018, to UAH 3,723.

This is envisaged in Ukraine's state budget for 2018.

The document stipulates that in 2018 the level of ensuring the living wage for granting assistance in accordance with the law of Ukraine on state social assistance to low-income families in percentage terms to the living wage for the main social and demographic groups of the population is 21% for able-bodied persons, 85% for children, and 100% of the living wage for disabled and handicapped people. The size of the state social assistance to low-income families in 2018 cannot exceed 75% of the level of ensuring the living wage for the family.

The living wage will amount to UAH 1,700 from January 1, 2018, UAH 1,777 from July 1, and UAH 1,853 from December 1.

The minimum wage in Ukraine rose to UAH 3,200 from January 1, 2017.
