Energoatom reaches agreement with Barclays on completion of two units at Khmelnytsky NPP
The president of Energoatom Yuri Nedashkivsky told a briefing in Brussels Press Club on October 29, the press service of the company reports.
"We have reached an agreement with the world-renowned Barclays bank, we will obtain funds for the completion of two units at Khmelnytsky NPP. As a result we will have the following results - minus one that was focused on Europe, produces plus two units for Ukraine. That is, one project contains three directions. The first is the technical electricity exports, the second is the financial instruments, the third is the construction of new power generating facilities," he said.
According to Energoatom’s President, all of these things conceptually presented in the corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers that approves this project.
"Of course, technical exports will begin not now when Ukraine is experiencing shortage of electricity. This project has implementation period of three to four years", said Nedashkivsky.
