Demchyshyn: We will prosecute managers of Krasnolymanska coal mine for illegal schemes
He told reporters at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.
"Some of the directors whom we have nominated will be replaced. It primarily refers to the coal mining industry. Unfortunately, some directors are used to work in not sufficiently transparent manner. We monitor them and warn that they are watched by law enforcement agencies. But, unfortunately, it does not always help," the minister notes.
He said the ministry has received evidence that the coal mined at the state-run coal mines is sold to private customers.
"For example, the Krasnolymanska coal mine. More than UAH 300 million were siphoned from the company, but the situation is complicated because the workers support the managers," said Demchyshyn.
He said that the ministry sent an internal audit group to the coal mine which worked for two days at the mine.
"No information was provided to auditors and they came back. There is an protocol of refusal to release information to them" said the minister while adding that this is a direct opposition.
The minister warned over the responsibility of state-owned company managers: "If directors are going to deceive the ministry, then they are wrong and must realize that the facts of illegal schemes are being collected every day," he noted.
