Greece to support sanctions against Russia

Greek Foreign Minister Nikolaos Kotzias said this on Thursday at a press conference in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Sanctions contributing to the restoration of peace and peaceful settlement of the conflict will always be evaluated as positive... We will support the sanctions that will be applied in order to achieve peace, stability and prosperity of the Ukrainian people," he said.

According to him, the EU is working on sanctions that will make "parties to the conflict" sit to the negotiating table.

"I want these sanctions to have the result. I want the sanctions to be used as an instrument of diplomacy," he said.
