IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said that the Khmelnytsky and Rivne nuclear power plants are reducing their capacity due to damage to electrical substations caused by Russian shelling.

This was reported by the IAEA on social media X, according to Ukrinform.

“In Ukraine, the Khmelnytsky and Rivne nuclear power plants are reducing their capacity after targeted attacks on electrical substations, which further complicates the stability of the power system,” Grossi said.

The IAEA Director General again called for “military restraint to prevent a nuclear accident.”
