Yanukovych attends bridge opening ceremony in Sevastopol
"I'm very pleased to open with you this interchange and the bridge that will resolve the transportation issue in Sevastopol," Yanukovych said.
He expressed gratitude for the hard work of Prydniprovska Railways that made a significant contribution to the construction of this facility. "I'm confident that we won't stop here. We'll continue to build roads and interchanges," he said.
He also presented state awards to the builders of the bridge.
The bridge reconstruction project envisaged the expansion of the two existing bridges, which are the main route for vehicles between Lenin and Nakhimov districts of the city.
The bridge consists of two concrete bridges 39.2 m and 40.2 m long, which were built in 1949 and in 1950. New bridges similar in design have currently been attached to them.
After all the work is completed, the number of traffic lanes will be increased from three to five.
