Signing of the agreement on a free trade area between Ukraine and Turkey could take place in 2013

KYIV, October 4 /UKRINFORM/. Signing of the agreement on a free trade area between Ukraine and Turkey could take place in 2013.

This was announced on Thursday by Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey Serhiy Korsunsky during a meeting of the MFA press club, a correspondent of UKRINFORM reported.

"Four rounds of negotiations on a free trade area agreement have been held. We hope to sign it next year," he said.

As UKRINFORM reported, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on October 2 that Ankara hopes to sign an agreement on a free trade area with Ukraine "in the near future."

Earlier, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the agreement on a free trade area between Ukraine and Turkey could be signed before the end of 2012. At the same time, President Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine stressed that the agreement should take into consideration the interests of both parties.
