Azarov: We will restore citizens' trust in the state
KYIV, August 21 /UKRINFORM/. The government will continue to work hard to restore the trust of citizens in the state.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this on Tuesday, during a press briefing in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, after the ceremony of commissioning a newly built apartment house, according to a correspondent of UKRINFORM.
"We will restore citizens' confidence in the state," Azarov said.
During a meeting with the owners of apartments in the new building, the Prime Minister asked why people more actively participate in the 70/30 state program for the acquisition of housing (where 70% is paid by citizens and 30% by the state) than in the Affordable Housing program, under which citizens shall make an initial payment of 25% of the sum total and receive a credit for 15 years at 3% per annum. The settlers said that the authority's inconsistent actions in the past undermined credibility of the government.
"I asked why citizens prefer the 70/30 program. They said, you pay 70% and forget about all settlements with the state. That is, people still do not trust the government. It would seem that the program Affordable Housing provides extremely favorable conditions, which in Europe would be grasped with both hands, and our people are still thinking. Therefore, it is still needed to work very much on the restoration of people's confidence in the promises of the state," Mykola Azarov said.
