State Tax Service: Rozetka.UA management to reimburse unpaid taxes
KYIV, April 21 /UKRINFORM/. The management of the Rozetka.UA online store has agreed to indemnify the losses inflicted on the state as a result of the company's failure to pay taxes worth more than UAH 7 million, the press office of the State Tax Service of Ukraine has told UKRINFORM.
In this regard, the violators will be exempt from criminal liability in accordance with Part 4, Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Thus, the tax police department denied a statement released in a social networking system about the attempt by investigators to detain a co-owner and head of the Rozetka.UA online store.
The press office said that the State Tax Service reasonably suspects one of the largest online stores of tax evasion. In April 2012, based on the materials received from tax police officers following an inspection, a criminal case was opened against the director of the company under Part 3, Article 212 the Criminal Code.
According to initial reports, the company imported goods from abroad at low prices, making it possible to receive windfall profit that was laundered through the accounts of fictitious firms. As a result of these transactions, the state budget lost over UAH 7 million.
As UKRINFORM reported, on April 19, 2012, State Tax Service employees conducted searches in three offices and three warehouses of the company Rozetka.UA. Servers were not seized during the searches.
