Ukrtelecom largest Internet provider in Ukraine
KYIV, March 31 /UKRINFORM/. The national commission for state regulation in the field of communication and information support has published the ranking of the ten largest providers of Internet access in Ukraine, and the list is headed by Ukrtelecom.
This is stipulated in a report on the commission's activities and the state of telecommunications in Ukraine in 2011.
The ranking was compiled by Expert & Consulting. The top three includes Ukrtelecom (1.3 million subscribers), Volia (480,000 subscribers) and Kyivstar (414,000 subscribers).
They are followed by such operators as Triolan (221,000 subscribers), Vega (144,000), Datagroup (150,000), Tenet (86,000), Airbites (74 thousand), FreeNet (73,000), Fregat (72,000).
In general, the subscriber base of users of broadband Internet access grew by 25.9% in 2011, to 4.9 million.
The commission said that the market for broadband Internet access is one of the most dynamic and competitive in Ukraine. However, due to strong competition and, consequently, a reduction in tariffs for users, there is a slowdown in the pace of revenues of providers.
In 2011, Internet providers received UAH 4.749 billion in revenues, which exceeded last year's figure by 12.1%.
According to various estimates, there are nearly 14 million Internet users in Ukraine.
