Canadian Defense Minister David McGuinty visited the Roshel factory, which supplies the Ukrainian Armed Forces with Senator armored vehicles in various configurations, and familiarized himself with the production process.

This was reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.

McGuinty said that Ukraine’s total fleet of “Senators” currently numbered about 1,700 vehicles, supplied by Canada, the U.S., and the Czech Republic, as well as those purchased directly by Ukraine, adding that this was a huge contribution by the Canadian company.

He emphasized that after the start of the Russian invasion, Roshel quickly ramped up production to ensure the supply of equipment to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. In this way, the company “strengthened Canada’s reputation as a reliable ally and manufacturer of high-quality defense equipment.”

Ukrainian Ambassador Andrii Plakhotniuk, who also visited the production facility, thanked Canada for its consistent support.

The diplomat said that Canada had provided Ukraine with more than USD 25 billion in aid overall, including USD 8.5 billion in military aid, and that every aid package had always arrived on time, had always been comprehensive, and had contained everything necessary.

As reported, in February, Canada announced that it would transfer approximately 400 new armored vehicles manufactured by Roshel to Ukraine.
