Russia attempting to prevent Mykolaiv region from participating in grain deal – Humeniuk

The Russians are trying to prevent Mykolaiv region from being included in the grain export deal.

Natalia Humeniuk, head of the joint press center of the Operational Command South, said during the nationwide United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.

According to her, on the Kinburn spit, the occupiers continue shelling the water area of the Dnipro-Bug Estuary in the Ochakiv direction and the Kutsurub community direction.

"This sector of their fire control is aimed at preventing Mykolaiv region from being included in the grain agreement. They continue to terrorize the grain agreement not only at the level of the Istanbul Coordination Center, where they block the work of the already identified ports of Odesa region, halt operations, artificially creating obstacles, but also involve their terrorism in this promising for the future direction,” Humeniuk said.

She clarified that the enemy shelled the Kutsurub community with anti-aircraft missiles on June 1, destroying private houses. There were no civilian casualties.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian air defenses shot down a Shahed-136 attack UAV over Mykolaiv region on June 1.
