Destruction as naval mine detonates off Odesa coast

In Ukraine’s Odesa region, a country house on the Black Sea coast was damaged as a result of the detonation of Russia’s rogue naval mine.

Serhiy Bratchuk, the spokesman for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

According to the spokesperson, the incident took place in the village of Sychavka of the Yuzhne Territorial Community in the Odesa District.

"As a result of the detonation of an enemy naval mine, a country house was damaged on the Black Sea coast. No casualties were reported," Bratchuk said.

The official also recalled that citizens must follow basic safety rules given the mine contamination threat in the area.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, a public safety warning was issued for Odesa region in the view of the latest storm that could bring rogue naval mines close to the coastline.
