Austrian, Slovak, Czech foreign ministers visit checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky, Austrian Federal Minister for European and International Affairs Alexander Schallenberg and Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Ivan Korcok have visited a checkpoint on the contact line in the area of the Joint Forces Operation in eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service has said.

Chief of the Luhansk Border Detachment Yurii Petriv acquainted the diplomats with the infrastructure of the entry-exit checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska and the specifics of checkpoint operations when crossing the contact line.

The delegation was also acquainted with the work of X-ray scanners ensuring the security component and the speed of crossing the contact line during control procedures.

The Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint is the only checkpoint in the Luhansk region where traffic is not blocked by the occupation authorities and where the contact line is crossed every day from 08:00 to 16:00.
