The Luigi Durand de la Penne, a missile destroyer of the Italian Navy, entered the Black Sea on August 18, according to the Turkish Twitter account Yörük Işık, which publishes data on the movement of warships across the Bosphorus.

According to the tweet, the Luigi Durand de la Penne (D560) transited the Bosphorus towards the Black Sea at 04:00 on August 18.

Andrii Klymenko, head of the Black Sea Institute for Strategic Studies, confirmed the report on Facebook.

"The monitoring group of BlackSeaNews and the Black Sea Institute for Strategic Studies reports that at dawn on August 18, 2021, the Italian Navy's missile destroyer Luigi Durand de la Penne (D560) entered the Black Sea," he wrote.
