Ukraine, Netherlands sign agreement on joint drone production
Shmyhal reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“Today I signed an important agreement with Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans. The document paves the way for the joint production of Ukrainian unmanned systems both in Ukraine and in the Netherlands,” Shmyhal wrote.
He clarified that production will be divided between Ukraine and the Netherlands. The drones will be purchased by the Dutch side and transferred to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
“We continue to scale up the production of the best examples of Ukrainian weaponry in cooperation with our partners,” Shmyhal noted.
He also thanked the Netherlands and Minister Brekelmans for their unwavering support for Ukraine.
As Ukrinform reported, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans previously announced an additional €250 million allocation under the PURL initiative, which provides for the purchase of U.S.-made weapons by NATO countries for subsequent transfer to Ukraine.
A day earlier, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and Norway’s Defense Minister Tore Sandvik signed a document on the joint production of Ukrainian drones.
