The State Kyiv Design Bureau Luch, which is part of the State Concern Ukroboronprom, and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have signed a contract for the supply of RK-360 MC Neptune coastal systems to the army in 2021.

"According to the contract, the Ukrainian army will receive unified launchers, transport and transporter-loader vehicles, as well as a mobile command post, which contains all the information necessary for the operation of the system. This will happen within the framework of the state defense order," the concern's press service reported.

The Neptune system is equipped with cruise missiles that fly at a very low altitude for a distance of about 300 km. The missile has liftoff and main engines. The liftoff engine is a modified solid-fuel takeoff booster from the S-125 anti-aircraft missile. The main engine MS-400 was produced by JSC Motor Sich.

The missile’s homing head has extremely high viewing angles and is able to detect and lock on a target at a distance of up to 50 km.

"The new weapon is one of the key high-tech product platforms of Ukroboronprom, which has great prospects. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are in need of the Neptune systems today," the concern added.
