Ukraine, U.S. to continue cooperation in more than 10 areas – Defense Ministry

As part of the California - Ukraine State Partnership Program, a working meeting of representatives of the Defense Attaché Office (DAO) at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States with a delegation of the California National Guard took place.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation in more than 10 areas, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported.

"During the talks, the American side was informed about the security situation in Ukraine, in particular in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area, the state and progress of defense reform in Ukraine, and the priorities of Ukraine’s cooperation with NATO, the United States and other partners... They also discussed issues of further cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the California National Guard in 2021 in the fields of education and training, joint exercises, exchange of experience, logistics and training of NCOs, cyber defense, and development of strategic communications," the report reads.

The U.S. delegation reaffirmed its clear commitment to intensifying military cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the implementation of a military cooperation plan between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the California National Guard for 2019-2021 in more than 10 areas.

For its part, the Ukrainian side expressed gratitude for the assistance and support provided by the United States and the California National Guard in enhancing the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
