Medical Forces Command created in Ukrainian army

The Medical Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been created in the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the first time, according to ArmyInform.
"The Medical Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been created in the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the first time. Major General of the Medical Service Ihor Khomenko was appointed the first commander of medical forces," the report reads.
It notes that the formation of a new entity involves the unification of the medical service under the sole direction of the commander of the medical forces, who is subordinate to the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to Khomenko, the creation of the Medical Forces Command was planned for 2021, but the leadership of the Defense Ministry and the General Staff initiated the speeding up of reforms, including with respect to the creation of a single leadership.
