President: No one involved in plundering of army will hide behind statute of limitations

"No one involved in plundering of the army will have an indulgence or hide behind the statute of limitations, because Ukrainian soldiers paid with their blood for this criminal plundering," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said during a meeting of the Zhytomyr Region Development Council on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He noted that no enemy could overcome the strength of new Ukrainian army, but the attempts to “hit our army, our defense from the rear are ongoing."

"On the eve of the elections, a massive shelling from all cannons of the information warfare is aimed at the army and society. The shells for this bombardment are willingly presented by those presidential candidates who have been previously destroying the Ukrainian army, selling it out when being senior officials," the President said.

The Head of State expressed hope that the temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine would properly evaluate the facts of plundering and subversion of defense capabilities and call the names of those involved in it.

The President is convinced that as long as the army holds the line, the army must be protected from the rear, protected “from the state-mongers who dishonor the work of the entire military-industrial complex".

"And it is no less important to protect the army from dealmakers and their partners in government positions that steal money from the military budget. I emphasize again - neither surnames, nor positions, nor ties will help those who illegally profiteer off the army," the Head of State summed up.
