National Security and Defense Council approves state defense order for 2018-2020

Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has considered and approved the key figures of the state defense order for 2018-2020, the council's press service has reported.

"The draft of the main figures of the state defense order for 2018-2020 submitted for consideration by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine is based on the financial resources determined in Ukraine's state budget for this year and the figures of the next two years provided for in the main directions of the budget policy for 2018-2020," reads the report.

The council recalled that in 2017, Ukraine introduced a three-year system of the state defense order, which enabled state customers and executors to better plan their work and resources.

According to the press service, the priority areas of the state defense order in 2018 should be the provision of the Armed Forces with modern missile systems and armored vehicles, means of electronic warfare, air defense, unmanned aerial systems, anti-sniper systems, etc.

According to NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, this year it is planned to increase financing of the state defense order to UAH 21.3 billion.
