Military receives more than 1,500 anti-Shahed drones per day — Shmyhal
According to Ukrinform, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal reported this on Telegram.
"More than 1,500 anti-Shahed drones per day — in December–January the Ministry of Defense reached a high average level in supplying interceptors to the military. This made it possible to significantly increase the capabilities of units in countering aerial targets at various levels — from the front line to the protection of rear regions," Shmyhal said.
He noted that a separate tool for strengthening capabilities has been the work of the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace. Through the platform, military units have ordered and received more than 7,000 tactical-level interceptor drones, allowing urgent needs to be met without waiting for centralized deliveries.
Shmyhal emphasized that interceptor drones are now a critically important element of a multi-layered air defense system. They make it possible to preserve expensive air defense missile resources by using more economical means of engagement; increase the density of counter-UAV measures without overloading air defense systems; and provide the front line with effective solutions to protect personnel, equipment, and logistics.
As Ukrinform previously reported, over four months of operation of the DOT-Chain Defence system, the military received equipment worth more than UAH 6 billion.
