Hug urges to speed up mine clearance in Donbas

Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug urges the parties to speed up mine clearance in Donbas, reminding that the deadline expires on March 31.
Hug said this at the briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"I remind the parties that demining works, especially around the checkpoints along the contact line and in the areas where it is necessary to repair the infrastructure, should be completed before March 31," Hug noted.
As reported, the members of the Trilateral Contact Group signed the document on mine clearance at 12 coordinated sites along the contact line in Minsk on March 2. The parties pledged to identify areas and prepare mine clearance maps until March 31.
