Surkov discusses resumption of fighting in Donbas – Ukrainian intelligence

Vadym Skybytsky, the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defence Ministry of Ukraine, said this at the briefing in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The intensified hostilities of the Russian-occupation forces are also associated with the visits of senior state leadership of the Russian Federation to the occupied territories. As a rule, shelling and intelligence activities are on the rise in this period. During the last visit of Surkov to the occupied territories, the issue of resumption of hostilities was actively considered and discussed," Skybytsky said.

According to the intelligence reports, the main purpose of such actions of the Russian-occupation forces is gaining access to the administrative borders of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
