The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has notified in absentia two suspects: a former militant and a traitor deputy, who are collaborating with the aggressor as members of the so-called "LPR People's Council."

According to Ukrinform, the SBU's 3rd Department in Donetsk and Luhansk regions reported this on Facebook.

"The Security Service has gathered evidence against two collaborators, so-called 'deputies of the LPR People's Council,' who represent Russian interests in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region. Both joined the fake governing body as a result of sham 'elections' in 2023," the statement said.

According to the investigation, one of the suspects fought in 2014-2015 as part of illegal armed groups against Ukrainian forces in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. He now represents the Russian party A Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth in the LPR People's Council and holds the position of deputy head of the faction. The other collaborator was engaged in business in Luhansk and served as a deputy in one of the city's district councils before Russia's full-scale invasion.

In the illegal LPR People's Council, he belongs to the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) faction and is a member of the Coordination Council of the LDPR regional branch.

Both traitors actively promote pro-Kremlin political projects in the occupied territory, aimed at destroying Ukrainian statehood.

They regularly take part in propaganda events, support Putin and Russian armed forces, and spread Russian ideology among the local population.

Based on SBU materials, both suspects have been notified in absentia of charges under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration activity).

The article provides for up to ten years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, prosecutors have announced charges against 77 collaborators and accomplices of Russia.
