Inspector of Mykolaiv pretrial facility detained for promoting violence against Ukrainian troops
The SBI reported this information, according to Ukrinform.
“SBI officers, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), established that an inspector of the Mykolaiv Pretrial Detention Center actively supported the shelling of Mykolaiv and the actions of the invaders in general in pro-Russian Telegram channels. He repeatedly spread pro-Russian slogans, urged the brutal killing of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, and even called on Russia to shell the detention center where he worked, in order to ‘free’ traitors and collaborators under investigation,” the SBI said.
Law enforcement officers have detained the inspector and notified him of suspicion under Parts 2 and 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (production and dissemination of materials that justify Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014, and glorification of those involved in it, committed repeatedly), and Part 1 of Article 161 (intentional actions aimed at inciting national hatred and humiliating national honor and dignity).
A preventive measure in the form of detention has been applied to the inspector. For his support of the invaders, he faces up to eight years in prison. The procedural supervision in the case is being carried out by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
As previously reported, in Cherkasy, law enforcement officers exposed a university lecturer who justified Russian attacks on Ukraine.
