Russian agents caught attempting to steal Ukraine’s defense secrets in Mykolaiv
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the SSU.
During a special operation in Mykolaiv, a Russian female agent was detained as she attempted to identify the locations of a defense enterprise’s dispersed facilities in the region.
Investigation revealed that the woman recruited her partner, an employee of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex (DIC), to assist in the operation.

“Initially, the enemy recruited the woman. Knowing that her company cooperates with a defense plant in Mykolaiv, the Russians tasked her with collecting information on the locations of DIC facilities and types of defense orders in the southern region,” the statement reads.
To achieve this, the woman used her partner, who worked in the material and technical supply department of the defense plant and interacted with her company.
The SSU uncovered the spy couple at the very beginning of their collaboration with the enemy. It was established that the man provided the woman with details about the status of state contracts and locations of production workshops.
However, the agent did not manage to report to the invaders, as she was detained by the SSU before completing the task.
During a search, authorities seized a smartphone containing evidence of her contacts with her Russian handler, Serhy Lebedev (aka Lokhmatyi), who works for the FSB and Russian military intelligence in Donetsk.
SSU investigators charged the agents under two articles of the Ukrainian Criminal Code: Part 2, Article 111 (treason during martial law) and Part 1, Article 114-2 (unauthorized dissemination of information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine during martial law).
The female agent is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The question of preventive measures for her partner is currently under consideration.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported that the SSU detained a former lecturer in Cherkasy who praised Russian forces and justified attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.
