In Donetsk region, military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) detained another FSB agent – an engineer at a local enterprise, who was assisting the Russians in planning new offensive operations against Ukriane’s Defense Forces positions near Kostiantynivka.

According to Ukrinform, the SSU reported this.

“The agent’s main task was to collect and transmit the coordinates of Ukrainian troops, who are holding back numerous enemy attacks and delivering counterstrikes,” the statement reads.

According to available data, after receiving the geolocation information, the enemy planned to attack Ukraine’s defenders in Donetsk region with Rubikon military drones. In this way, the Russians intended to create “corridors” for Russian assault groups to break through toward the town.

The investigation established that the enemy agent was a 39-year-old engineer at a local enterprise, who had been seeking contact with Russian special services through Telegram channels.

On the invaders’ instructions, he patrolled the frontline area, tracked the locations of Ukrainian defenders, and marked their positions on Google Maps.

Among the enemy’s potential targets were long-range artillery batteries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and reserve command posts of frontline National Guard units.

For cover, the agent had three separate smartphones, which he used independently for recording coordinates and for communicating with his handler in an anonymous chat.

SSU military counterintelligence detained the Russian “mole” and carried out measures to secure the Defense Forces’ positions in the zone of hostile intelligence activity.

SSU investigators informed the FSB agent of suspicion under Part 2, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under martial law).

The offender is in custody without the right to bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As reported by Ukrinform earlier, in Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih, spotters of Russian strikes on Ukraine’s Defense Forces and enterprises were detained.
