Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko stated that the suspected shooter was apprehended just minutes ago in the Khmelnytskyi region.

“There won’t be many details for now. I’ll only say that the crime was meticulously planned: the victim’s movements were monitored, a route was mapped out, and an escape plan was devised,” he noted.

The minister emphasized that once again, police and SBU officers demonstrated a high level of professionalism. Within 24 hours of the murder, they had identified the suspect’s trail, and within 36 hours, they made the arrest. He promised that further details would be provided by the police in due course.

Klymenko expressed gratitude for the outstanding work of the Lviv region police, the central office of the National Police of Ukraine, the SBU, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

As previously reported, former Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy was killed in an armed attack in Lviv’s Frankivskyi District on Saturday, August 30.
