Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a 40-year-old chemical plant worker who, on behalf of the Russian special services, transmitted the coordinates of Defense Forces facilities in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Lviv regions.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the SSU.

The man's main task was to search for and transmit the coordinates of airfields, air defense complexes, and enterprises producing unmanned systems for the Defense Forces.

To direct enemy strikes, the perpetrator, under the clear guidance of the FSB, conducted reconnaissance in these regions and was to mark the coordinates of military facilities and Ukrainian UAV production sites on Google Maps.

In addition, the man collected intelligence through acquaintances: he extracted information from them under the guise of friendly conversations on unrelated topics.

SSU officers foiled the suspect when he set out to carry out a new task from his handler, in particular, to record the consequences of a recent strike in the Kyiv region.

The SSU also took measures to secure the locations of the Defense Forces.

During searches, a smartphone with geolocations, photographs, and other reporting materials for the Russians was seized from the detainee.

SBU investigators informed him that he was suspected of violating Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
