Ukrainian Consulate investigating killing of woman and child in Germany
This was confirmed by Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Ukrinform.
On June 29, the bodies of two Ukrainian citizens — a woman born in 1992 and her daughter born in 2023 — were found near their residence in Dorsten, located in North Rhine-Westphalia.
On June 30, a Ukrainian citizen born in 2009 turned himself in at the scene and confessed to the crime. He was taken into custody. Authorities are currently investigating his relationship to the victims.
“The Consulate General of Ukraine in Düsseldorf has submitted a formal request to German police for more information. Ukrainian diplomats are working to contact the families of both the victims and the detained individual. The case is under special oversight by the diplomatic mission,” the MFA stated.
As reported earlier by Ukrinform, German police arrested a 16-year-old Ukrainian male suspected of murdering a 32-year-old Ukrainian woman and her 1.5-year-old daughter.
