A total of 128 cases of arson attacks targeting military vehicles have been registered across Ukraine this year so far.

This was reported by Deputy Head of the National Police Andriy Niebytov, Ukrinform learned.

“This year, 128 cases of arson attacks on military vehicles have been registered, 84 of which have already been solved,” he wrote on Facebook.

Niebytov spoke about the meeting he held in the Donetsk region with the heads of criminal police units. According to the official, special emphasis was placed on countering terrorist attacks, arson atempts, and sabotage activities by Russia.

“The security and combat capability of our country, our defense might, depend on this work. Since the beginning of 2025, a total of 44 acts of terror have been committed in Ukraine on the orders of Russian intelligence. Police, together with the security service, have solved 38 such crimes, and 21 of them were never allowed to be executed as enemy assets were exposed at the preparatory stage,” the deputy head of the National Police noted.

The most common targets of terrorist attacks were military service members (12 cases) and police stations (nine cases).

“As a rule, bombers used custom-made explosive devices made from improvised materials on the instructions of Russian handlers. Russians recruit perpetrators through Telegram channels and other platforms for job seekers, used items’ sales, dating sites, and social media. They even send explosives by post claiming that these are parcels from relatives,” Niebytov informed.

At the same time, he noted that in Donetsk region, one step closer to the enemy, it is most difficult to fight sabotage.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, SBU counterintelligence and police detained an FSB asset believed to have been engaged in arson and plotting an assassination in Kyiv.
