Kherson police investigate Russian shooting of civilian car in February 2022
This was reported in Telegram by the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kherson region, Ukrinform reports.
“On 28.02.2022, at lunchtime, servicemen of the aggressor state, being on the M-17 highway, namely near the Amik Energy gas station, near the Antonivskyi Bridge, shot a black Volkswagen Polo with a firearm and inflicted injuries on men aged 43, 31 and 28 who were trying to evacuate from the combat zone,” the statement said.
The police are currently collecting evidence, identifying witnesses and eyewitnesses to the incident. The Department for Investigation of Crimes Committed in the Context of Armed Conflict of the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kherson Region asks anyone who has any information or witnessed the above incident to contact the chatbot @Warcrimes_Police_KhS_UA_bot.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, investigators in Kherson region are investigating 4,500 proceedings on war crimes committed by Russians.
In the fall of 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the right-bank part of the Kherson region, including the city of Kherson. The part of the region located on the left bank of the Dnipro River is temporarily occupied by Russian troops.
