Court arrests man suspected of killing serviceman in Pyriatyn
As reported by Ukrinform, this information was provided by Suspilne.
According to the investigation, on January 31, the suspect, Vadym Kuzub, attempted to help his acquaintance, who had been mobilized, escape from the territorial recruitment center (TRC).

The latter, along with other men, was traveling to a military unit for training, accompanied by servicemen from the Poltava TRC. He made several calls, providing updates on the bus's route. Realizing that his acquaintance would not make it to the scheduled stop, Poltava resident pretended to be ill and asked for a brief stop.
Later, at a gas station in Pyriatyn, Vadym Kuzub, wearing a gray balaclava and pixelated pants, approached a Poltava TRC serviceman, who was transporting the conscripts, and demanded his weapon, threatening him with a hunting rifle. After being refused, the assailant shot the soldier, who died instantly from the severe injury.
Following the attack, the suspect took the serviceman's assault rifle and fled with one of the mobilized conscripts. The suspected attacker and his accomplice were apprehended on the same day.
In court, the prosecution requested that the suspect be held in pretrial detention for 60 days from the moment of arrest, without the option for bail. Prosecutor Oleh Beztsinnyi argued against granting bail, stating that it was impossible due to the violence used by the suspect against the military officer.
As Ukrinform previously reported, the Poltava police arrested a man who shot a Poltava TRC serviceman as well as his accomplice.
On February 2, two residents of Poltava were charged with the murder of a Poltava TRC serviceman.
