Satellite images confirm extensive destruction at the chemical plant in Dorogobuzh in Russia's Smolensk region following an attack on the night of February 24-25.

That is according to the Militarnyi news portal, Ukrinform reports.

"Images released by OSINT analysts from CyberBoroshno show the aftermath of FP-1 drone strikes. The main damage is concentrated in the areas used for the production, storage and transportation of ammonium nitrate," the report said.

According to the images, a series of explosions hit the truck loading area and the railway terminal.

Satellite imagery recorded the complete destruction of one of the main overpasses. Facilities used for the production of ammonium nitrate were also hit. In addition, the blast wave damaged neighboring installations within a radius of several hundred meters.

The destruction of a finished goods warehouse was also recorded, where a chain detonation caused the destruction of logistics infrastructure.

Militarnyi noted that according to 2024 data, the facility accounted for about 10% of Russia's total ammonium nitrate production.

The chemical plant also specializes in the production of nitric acid, ammonia and nitroammophoska.

These components are widely used in the production of TNT, RDX, HMX and other explosives employed in the manufacture of various types of munitions for the Russian army.

"Disabling such an enterprise is of strategic importance, as it directly affects Russia's ability to supply its military with explosive components and ammunition," Militarnyi said.

A previous strike on the Dorogobuzh plant was carried out by operators of the 1st Separate Center in cooperation with the Graf unit of the Unmanned Systems Forces on the night of December 10-11.

At that time, a fire also broke out at the Russian facility, which was recorded by local residents.
